                                                                               Delbert  Morris

     Delbert Morris, of Comanche, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday April 3, 2024 at Wilkins Nursing Home at the age of, 90 years, 4 months & 17 days.

     Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Freedom Biker Church with C.D. Suitor officiating, interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery. Arrangements have entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

     The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

     Delbert was born November 17, 1933 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Joe & Mamie (Threet) Morris, he was a resident of Duncan all his life and retired from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, he loved the outdoors and doing anything that could be done outside, he would leave to work outside and would put on his cowboy hat first thing, to work in his garden, woodworking, fishing or drawing, he always had a pencil in his overalls to draw or sketch something that would catch his attention. Delbert married the love of his life Mayzell Cowan on June 29, 1953 and to this union were born four children, 2 sons; LeLand & Rodney, and two daughters; Debbie & Shelly, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, family meant everything to him, Mayzell preceded him in death on February 8, 2024.   

     Survivors include a son; Leland Morris and his wife Rhonda of Comanche, Oklahoma, daughters; Debbie Jump and her husband Eddie of Comanche, Oklahoma, Shelly Wren & Husband David of Duncan, Oklahoma 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

     Delbert was preceded in death by his wife; Mayzell Morris, his son; Rodney Morris, his parents; Joe & Mammie Morris, a brother; Joe Earl Morris and two sisters; Beatrice Carroll and Shirley Young.
